Sujinho features covers of legendary artists as well as brand spanking new original material from Madlib and Mamão.
$14.99

In 2007 Madlib went with the Mochilla crew to Recife in the Northeast of Brasil. After spending three weeks there he came home and made six mixes. He named them Dirty Brasilian Crates Vol.1– 6. They are filled with jumps, cross referenced with Bossa, notated with Folkloric chants, pointed with Jazz. Lyrical, dirty and strikingly beautiful this is Volume 1.

The all doer Count Bass D meshes his Some Music Part Five with slices of laidback charm, flyness and a little Tennessee boom bap. Like a sweaty slow grind in the corner at an overcrowded after party conjuring a new day, this mix takes a low ride through the bends of his own sound creations. Slim and nice, from the south side of the map, Count Bass D keeps it buzzing.

Born of celebrating life and resilient African rhythms mixed with percussions and an accordion, Cumbia’s rhythmically rich heat sifts throughout Quantic’s Caja Y Guacharacha; a lovely blend venturing into some of his favorite musicians and composers, while sweetly speaking Quantic’s fever for music without tongue, but translating a pulse comparable to the heartbeat.

Kutmah is the founder of SketchBook. SketchBook was the club that nurtured into being Flying Lotus, Ras G, GaslampKiller. It was an oasis every Tuesday night for heads of the “made this at the crib earlier, lets play it variety”. Kutmah was always there with a new crazy blend and a sketch you wouldn’t believe. His graphic arts skills are legendary, he is mean on the wheels and with a pen. Dusted Soul is him on blast live at the Dublab studios. His energy is evident and his esoteric taste is the way you know for sure itâs him.

Ras G has been a fixture on the underground hiphop scene in Los Angeles since the early 90s. He is a proud South Central resident. A carrier of the Backwoods, he is a founder of the ubiquitous Poo-Bahs Label. Poo-Bahs is a bright light on the map of LA experimental music, from abstract beats to noise. His “Beats and the Abstract Truth” mix for Mochilla is a dirty noisy excursion into the mind of Ras. Like Oliver Nelson blazed in a juke joint on the other side of Jupiter. Lots of fog horns, natty chattin and thump. Bring up the reverb.
